Michael A. Saxton

CEO

Michael A. Saxton is the CEO of Agero, a Boston-based leading provider of vehicle and driver programs, including the company’s flagship emergency roadside assistance and connected vehicle programs.

As CEO of the company, Saxton oversees and directs Agero’s global roadside and telematics business development and operational strategies. Saxton also serves as a member of Agero’s board of advisors. Saxton joined Agero as president more than thirteen years ago, and has been instrumental in transforming the company into a leading global company servicing some of the world’s most prominent brands within the automotive and insurance markets. Under Saxton’s leadership, Agero has achieved international presence and gained tremendous market share for roadside assistance within the automotive and insurance markets. His unwavering customer focus has resulted in numerous industry and peer awards for Agero’s products and services.

Prior to joining Agero, Saxton served as Vice President of Global Sales of GE Capital Fleet Services, the largest vehicle management company in the world. During his tenure with the company, Saxton held a number of senior positions spanning operations, product management, and sales; and was selected for GE’s highly acclaimed Management Development Course at Crotonville. Previously, Saxton held management positions in sales and business development in start-up, growth, and turn-around environments at leading automotive service and fleet management companies. 

Saxton earned his bachelor’s degree from Kent State University.

Mark Carbrey

Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer

As Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer, Mark Carbrey brings over 23 years of software and industrial engineering experience to Agero.

In his role, Carbrey is charged with leveraging his extensive expertise to drive Agero’s technological leadership, growth, and innovation as it delivers next-generation services, advances its award-winning contact centers, and introduces revolutionary improvements to its service delivery infrastructure.

Prior to joining Agero, Carbrey served as Chief Technology Officer of Monster Worldwide, where he was responsible for supporting a number of business units. Prior to Monster Worldwide, Carbrey served as CTO for GetConnected.com and was a Managing Partner and practice leader at US Web/CKS.

Carbrey holds a bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering from the University of Massachusetts, and a masters of science in Computer Science from Fitchburg State College.

Charlie Cavolina

President, Connected Vehicle Services, and Chief Service Officer

As President, Connected Vehicle Services, and Chief Service Officer, Charlie Cavolina brings over 25 years of domestic and international leadership experience in high-quality customer support, sales, operations management, marketing, and risk management to Agero.

For the last 13 years Cavolina has been charged with ensuring service and operational excellence across Agero’s vertical markets, as well as increasing value through various product development initiatives. Cavolina recently headed up the rebranding effort that combined the Cross Country Automotive Services and ATX organizations under the Agero marquee.

Prior to joining Agero, Cavolina served as Director of Operations for Cendant, where he was responsible for leading customer service and sales support for several products across the enterprise. During his tenure, Cavolina built and managed the start-up of several operations centers for Shopper’s Advantage, Traveler’s Advantage and CompleteHome.

Cavolina has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Villanova University.

Peggy Ward

Executive Vice President and Chief Financial and Administrative Officer

As Executive Vice President and Chief Financial and Administrative Officer, Peggy Ward brings over 20 years of finance, operations, and business planning expertise. During her tenure, she has been instrumental in building and enhancing financial management processes and financial and human resource systems, as well as providing ongoing business decision support.

Prior to joining Agero, Peggy was the Vice President of Finance at the Casual Male Retail Group, Inc, and also held executive level finance and operations positions at the Stride Rite Corporation, and Allied Domecq QSR (Dunkin’ Donuts, Inc.). Peggy started her career with Ernst and Young in Boston, where she earned a CPA from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Ward holds a Bachelor of Science from the Carroll School of Management at Boston College, and attended the Tuck Executive Program in General Management at Dartmouth College.

Peter Necheles

Senior Vice President, Corporate Development, Chief Legal Officer, Corporate Secretary

As Senior Vice President, Corporate Development, Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary, Peter Necheles brings over 20 years of business and legal experience to Agero.

In his role, Necheles is responsible for corporate development activities including domestic and international strategic relationships and acquisitions, as well as for legal services such as regulatory compliance, contract negotiations, and general corporate matters. 

Prior to joining Agero, Necheles was senior counsel for the warranty division of Solectron Corporation, an electronic equipment manufacturer (acquired by Flextronics in 2007). He has also served as senior counsel with Stream International, an international call center business, as a junior partner with the law firm WilmerHale (formerly known as Hale and Dorr), and as a senior policy advisor at the U.S. Department of Treasury as a member of the Clinton Administration.

Necheles received his bachelor’s degree from Colby College and his juris doctor degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.

Dave Ferrick

President, Insurance and Automotive Services

As President, Insurance and Automotive Services, Dave Ferrick brings significant product management, contact center operations, account management, data analytics, and insurance loss reporting experience to Agero. In this role, Ferrick is responsible for leading the company’s efforts to create additional value for current and prospective insurance and automotive clients and their customers.

Previously, Ferrick was Director of Product Management for the Insurance Market, where he was responsible for developing an executable mid- and long-term growth strategy for the business through new and enhanced product offerings. Prior to that, he held numerous roles within the company including Director, Sales Planning and Analysis; Product Manager; Account Manager; and Supervisor of Training for First Notice System (at the time a subsidiary of Agero).

Ferrick holds both a bachelor’s of science and doctorate of law degree from Suffolk University and is a graduate of the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program.

Tom Metzger

Senior Vice President, General Manager, Connected Vehicle Services Market

As Senior Vice President and General Manager of Agero’s Connected Vehicle Services business, Tom Metzger brings over 20 years of experience in the automotive services and supplier industry. Metzger has oversight for all global client-side Sales, Account Management, Product and Program Management, and Customer Advanced Technology Solutions, as well as for European strategy.

Prior to joining Agero, Metzger was a senior executive at Harman Becker Automotive Systems, the automotive division of Harman International, a worldwide manufacturer and distributor of high-quality, high fidelity audio/video products and multi-media systems for the professional, consumer and automotive markets.

As vice president of Harman Becker’s Asia Pacific business unit, Metzger established its foothold into Asia and created its regional business unit and supporting operations. He managed all aspects of business planning and implementation, and also developed global business and strategic brand partnerships with major Japan- and Korea-based automotive OEM customers, providing local sales, marketing and technical support.

Metzger holds a bachelor of science degree in marketing from Oakland University in Michigan.
